Scope and ContentTommy Scanlon was born in 1912. Influence of uncles. Lived in Davyhulme, and moved to Stretford when he was 9. He left school at 14, and worked at Metro-Vickers. He lost an eye at 15 in the toolroom, and went into the drawing office. He joined the Draughtsmen's Association. He describes in detail the works and his job in the tool store and transfer. Talk about his involvement with the union. War years. Communist party. Daily Worker. Meetings. Elections. Soviet Union - orders, visits.
